For the third season in a row, the South Dakota State University football team will open its season by taking on a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent.
Saturday night, the Jackrabbits will square off against a TCU squad that is ranked 13th by the Associated Press and 14th in the coaches’ poll, and is coming off an 11-2 2015 season which ended with the Horned Frogs rallying for a 47-41, triple-overtime victory over Oregon in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
SDSU, meanwhile, reached the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs for the fourth year in a row in 2015. The Jackrabbits ended the year 8-4 overall, including a 5-3 mark in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium on the TCU campus in Fort Worth, Texas. The game will be televised by FOX Sports regional networks, including FOX Sports North, and can be heard on 570 WNAX.
