Members of the South Dakota State University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams swept the Summit League’s weekly awards after impressive showings Jan. 31 in a dual against the University of North Dakota.

Honored on the men’s side were junior swimmer Ben Bolinske and senior diver Connor Florand. A native of Williston, N.D., Bolinske won the 50-yard feestyle with a time of 21.01 seconds, and also clocked a season-best time of 46.88 seconds in the 100 freestyle en route to a runner-up finish. Along with those top-two performances, Bolinske also swam the anchor leg of the Jackrabbits’ winning 200-freestyle relay team and third-place 400 medley relay team.

Florand, a native of Forest Lake, Minn., posted season-best marks in both the 3-meter and 1-meter diving competitions. He registered respective scores of 334.13 and 296.33 to sweep the men’s diving events.

In the women’s division, senior Emily Campbell was honored as Summit League Women’s Swimmer of the Week. The Aberdeen native won two of four events in which she competed in the dual with UND. She touched the wall first in both the 100- (1:06.74) and 200-yard (2:23.81) breaststroke, and placed third in both the 200 individual medley (2:13.16) and 400 medley relay.

Junior Olivia Olesiak was named Diver of the Week after turning in season-best scores in sweeping the diving events. Olesiak, from Wyoming, Minn.,  scored 252.23 in the 3-meter event and 249.30 in the 1-meter competiong, both of which are top-10 marks in The Summit League this season.
