South Dakota State’s Jazzelena Black was honored Tuesday as co-Summit League Women’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week for her performances at a pair of meets over the weekend in Iowa

. On April 29 at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Black placed fourth in the long jump with a personal-best lead of 19 feet, 9.75 inches. Her mark is tops in the Summit League this season and second longest in program history

. Later that same day, Black took first place in the triple jump at the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College with a mark of 42-6.75. A senior from Oxnard, California, Black shared the award with North Dakota State thrower Katelyn Weimerskirch. Black was also honored as Summit League Athlete of the Week on April 5.
