South Dakota State volleyball coach Nicole Cirillo announced that Sierra Peterson will join the Jackrabbits for the upcoming 2016 season.
Peterson is a transfer from Bradley University and will be a sophomore.
At Bradley, the 6-foot outside hitter played in 12 matches, starting once. Her best outing came against UMKC with five kills and two blocks.
The Grand Island, Neb., native was an honorable mention all-state selection by both the Omaha World-Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star as a senior. Additionally, Peterson was named to the Grand Island Independent All-Area Super Squad and garnered all-conference honors. As a junior, Peterson earned honorable mention all-state by the World-Herald and Journal Star and third team all-area while helping the Islanders to a state quarterfinal appearance. The three-year letterwinner collected 418 kills as a junior and 342 kills and 282 digs as a senior.
