The South Dakota State men’s basketball team released its 2014-15 schedule which includes 13 home games, along with a game on Nov. 30, at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls against Florida Gulf Coast.

The Jackrabbits also play in a three-team tournament hosted by Utah State in December, where they play the host Aggies, Idaho State and CSU Bakersfield. The trip to Utah wraps up with a game at Utah in Salt Lake City on Dec. 23.

“We are very pleased to finalize the schedule. I want to thank coach Rob Klinkefus and Clint Sargent for their tireless efforts in fitting the pieces together. It continues to be quite a challenge for us to get the right balance of home and away games,” head coach Scott Nagy said. “As you can imagine, there isn’t too many teams anxious to come to Frost Arena. We think the entire schedule is very challenging and offers our fans a competitive slate of home games.“

After a pair of home exhibition games against South Dakota Tech on Oct. 30, and Dakota Wesleyan on Nov. 4, the regular season opens on Nov. 14, at Buffalo, followed by a game at Idaho on Nov. 17, the first of two games against the Vandals, who return to Brookings on Dec. 13.

The home slate opens with North Dakota on Nov. 21 against North Dakota, followed by a game against Chadron State on Nov. 25. SDSU also hosts Wayne State College on Dec. 3, and Kansas City on Dec. 6.

Other non-conference road games include contests at St. Louis on Dec. 9, and at Northern Iowa on Dec. 28.

The Summit League starts on Jan. 2, at Denver, with a game at defending league champion North Dakota State two days later.

The first home league contest pits the Jacks against Western Illinois on Jan. 7.

The season concludes with The Summit League Championships, which returns to Sioux Falls for a seventh consecutive season on March 7-10, the first season in the new Denny Sanford Premier Center.
