The South Dakota State University football team closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule Saturday night by hosting Drake in the 51st Annual Beef Bowl.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium. Besides Beef Bowl festivities, the Jackrabbits also will be playing in support of the Samaritan’s Feet organization, which provides shoes to people in need both locally and internationally.
The fourth-ranked Jackrabbits are 2-0 after posting wins of 51-13 over Duquesne and 31-27 at Montana State. SDSU’s high-powered offense totaled 1,035 yards of total offense in the two games.
Drake, meanwhile, enters Saturday’s game with a 1-1 record. The Bulldogs opened with a 77-7 defeat at the hands of the University of South Dakota on Sept. 2, then rebounded with a 55-14 home win over NAIA member Southwestern (Kan.) last week.
