Two teams that qualified for the 2013 Football Championship Subdivision playoffs will square off Saturday as nationally ranked South Dakota State travels to Southern Utah.
Kickoff is slated for 6:05 p.m. Mountain Time (7:05 p.m. Central) at Eccles Coliseum in Cedar City, Utah.
South Dakota State, ranked 10th in this week’s FCS Coaches’ rankings and 11th in the Sports Network media poll, enters Saturday’s game with a 1-1 overall record. After a season-opening loss at Missouri, the Jackrabbits rebounded with a 44-18 home victory over Cal Poly on Sept. 6.
Southern Utah, meanwhile, is off to an 0-2 start as it is halfway through perhaps the toughest non-conference schedule among all FCS teams this season. The Thunderbirds fell at Football Bowl Subdivision member Nevada in their season opener, then dropped a 41-14 decision at third-ranked Southeastern Louisiana last week. SUU has another date against an FBS opponent looming next week as the Thunderbirds travel to Fresno State (Calif.).
