The South Dakota State University football team will attempt to move one step closer to a potential Football Championship Subdivision playoff berth Saturday as it closes out the road portion of its regular season schedule with a matchup at Southern Illinois.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Saluki Stadium on the SIU campus in Carbondale, Illinois. The game will be heard on 570 WNAX.

The sixth-ranked Jackrabbits enter Saturday’s game with a 6-2 overall record and 4-2 mark in the Missouri Valley Football Conference after posting a 59-7 home victory over Missouri State on Nov. 3.

SIU, meanwhile, let a 17-point lead slip away in the fourth quarter, falling to in-state rival Western Illinois, 34-31, last Saturday. The Salukis fell to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in league play with the last-minute loss.
