The South Dakota State University football team will attempt to bounce back from its first Missouri Valley Football Conference loss of the season as it hosts Missouri State in the annual Hall of Fame Game.

Saturday’s game also has been designated as the Third Annual Dairy Drive.Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.

The 50th induction class of the Jackrabbit Sports Hall of Fame will be honored at events throughout the day, including halftime of the football game. The 2016 Hall of Fame class consists of swimmer Beth (Anderson) Kaspar, women’s basketball standout Laurie (Bruns) Kruse, football All-American the late Doug Miller and men’s basketball player Chris White.

The Jackrabbits, 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the MVFC, enter Saturday’s contest as part of a three-way tie for first place in the league standings with North Dakota State and Youngstown State – two teams SDSU defeated in back-to-back weeks last month.

SDSU suffered a 38-21 setback at Illinois State last weekend. Missouri State, meanwhile, rallied for a 38-35 home victory over Southern Illinois last week to improve to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in league play under second-year head coach Dave Steckel. The Bears scored the final 10 points of the game in a three-minute span, including the game-winning 32-yard field goal by Zach Drake with 10 seconds remaining.
