The 12th-seeded South Dakota State Jackrabbits (27-6) make their second appearance in the NCAA Tournament round of 32 Monday when the play 4th-seeded and 13th-ranked Stanford (24-7) in the second round of the 2016 tournament.
The Jackabbits and the Cardinal tip off in Stanford, California, at 8:10 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
- South Dakota State advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 74-71 upset of fifth-seeded and 19th-ranked Miami Friday. Freshman Madison Guebert scored a game-high 19 points and sank 5 of 7 3-pointers. Sophomores Macy Miller and Ellie Thompson chipped in 18 points and 14 points, respectively.
- A win over Stanford advances the Jackrabbits to Lexington, Ky., for the regionals for the first time in school history.
- SDSU advanced past the NCAA first round in 2009, beating TCU, 90-55, March 22, 2009. It lost to Baylor, 60-58, in the second round, March 24.
- Senior Gabby Boever is 1-4 and classmate Chloe Cornemann is 1-3 in the NCAA Championship, having advanced to the first round in 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2014.
- South Dakota State broke or tied 10 SDSU NCAA records Friday. Madison Guebert tied SDSU NCAA records with 19 points, five 3-pointers and a 71.4 3-point shooting percentage vs. Miami.
