A two-game trip to Cancun, Mexico, 12 home games and a return to the Sanford Pentagon highlight the 2015-16 South Dakota State men’s basketball schedule, which for a eighth year, wraps up with The Summit League Championships in Sioux Falls.

“I really need to thank Joe Krabbenhoft and Rob Klinkefus for their work on getting this schedule together, because I know it wasn’t easy,” head coach Scott Nagy said. I’m pleased with the way it turned out, especially with how tough it is for us to get teams to come to Frost Arena. We think we have some really good teams coming in, and we know we’ll have some tough challenges on the road, but we look forward to getting the season started.”

After a pair of exhibition games at Frost Arena against South Dakota Mines and Dakota Wesleyan, the Jackrabbits open the regular season with two straight home games, starting with Chadron State on Nov. 13, followed by the first of two games against Weber State on Nov. 16.

The Jacks them embark on a season-long five game road trip, which included games at Illinois State and TCU and the two games at the Cancun Challenge, with a game at Kansas City on the way home.

The two other non-conference home games fall on Dec. 2 against Wayne State and Dec. 13 against UC Santa Barbara, with a game at Minnesota in between on Dec. 8.

SDSU hits the road for games at Texas Tech (Dec. 16), FGCU (Dec. 19) and the return game at Weber State (Dec. 22), then come home for a short break before playing Middle Tennessee State at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls on Dec. 27.

The new year ushers in Summit League play, with the Jacks opening at home against Denver on Jan. 1, followed by a visit from Western Illinois on Jan. 3.

League play also ends at home, with SDSU hosting North Dakota State on Feb. 25, before closing the regular season against Oral Roberts on Feb. 27.

The Summit League Championships begin on March 5, and run through March 8 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls.
