South Dakota State University head football coach John Stiegelmeier announced Tuesday the promotion of Jason Eck to run game coordinator.
“In one short year, Coach Eck has had a huge impact, not only on our offense, but our entire program,” Stiegelmeier said. (Offensive coordinator) Eric Eidsness, Coach Eck and our entire offensive staff led an offense that had one of the best seasons in the history of South Dakota State University Football.”
Eck joined the Jackrabbit football coaching staff in January 2016 as offensive line coach. During the 2016 season, SDSU featured one of the most prolific offenses in the Football Championship Subdivision with averages of 33.2 points and 437.5 yards of total offense per game en route to a Missouri Valley Football Conference title and a fifth consecutive berth in the FCS playoffs.
