The South Dakota State men’s basketball team rebounded from a tough loss on Monday with a dominating 103-50 win on Tuesday over Club de Regatas Campineiro, a U22 team  in Campinas, Brazil, a city within the state of São Paulo.

“I’m pleased with our players, I think the concentrated and did the things that we worked on, in this situation, it would be easy to mess around and not take it seriously” head coach Scott Nagy said. “We have a lot to learn, but the best thing is that our young guys got lots of playing time and some good experience.

The host did not keep official stats, so unofficially, five different Jackrabbits scored in double figures in the win, led by Logan Doyle with 12. Both Connor Devine and Jake Bittle finished with 11 points, with Cody Larson and Anders Broman adding 10 points each in the win.

Regatas scored first from the free throw line, but the Jacks came right back on the other end and never looked back. SDSU led by 20 at the half and kept the offense rolling in the second half to seal the win and move to 1-1 on their four-game Brazilian tour.

Following the game, the Jackrabbit players signed autographs and posed for pictures with the local kids that attended the game.

SDSU returns to action on Wednesday against Jacarei, a team from the Brazilian A2 League. The game begins at 4 p.m. CT, in the City of Jacarei.
