For the third year in a row, the Jackrabbits are dancing.
South Dakota State men’s basketball clinched its third consecutive Summit League Tournament title Tuesday night, taking down No. 2 seed South Dakota in the championship game, 97-87, in front of 11,114 fans at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center to earn the league’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
David Jenkins, Jr., led four Jackrabbits in double figures with 29 points, with Daum adding 25 points to go with his 11 rebounds for his 21st double-double of the year. Reed Tellinghuisen also posted a double-double, notching 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, while Brandon Key pitched in with 10 points and a game-high six assists.
Matt Mooney tallied 30 points for the Coyotes while leading all scorers.
