Two South Dakota State Jackrabbits and a South Dakota Coyote are among the FCS All Americans named Thursday.
South Dakota State’s prolific receiving tandem of tight end Dallas Goedert and wide receiver Jake Wieneke were each honored on the 2016 Associated Press Football Championship Subdivision All-America Team.
A junior from Britton, Goedert leads all FCS tight ends with a single-season school-record 92 receptions for 1,293 yards and 11 touchdowns in earning first-team honors.
Wieneke, a junior from Maple Grove, Minnesota, was honored on the AP FCS All-America Team for the third time in as many seasons after hauling in 78 catches for 1,316 yards and tying for the subdivision lead with 16 touchdown receptions en route to third-team recognition.
South Dakota senior Miles Bergner (Longmont, Colo.) is the top punter on the 2016 Associated Press FCS All-America Team.
Bergner is the FCS’ leading punter with a program-record 47.5-yard average, nearly two yards better than any of his peers.
