South Dakota State closes a two-game road swing Wednesday in a rivalry game at South Dakota with first place in The Summit League on the line.
The teams tip in Vermillion at 7 p.m. and the game can be heard on 570 WNAX.
The Jackrabbits (17-5, 5-0 Summit League) have won eight straight games entering the weekend, including a 98-70 takedown of Western Illinois last Saturday. State is off to its best start in league play since joining the Summit League in 2007.
South Dakota (17-5, 5-1 Summit League) has won three straight and is half a game back of the Jackrabbits in The Summit League standings and is 4-1 in the last five games. USD won two games last week, defeating Oral Roberts (82-70) and Omaha (85-71).
The South Dakota Showdown Series, presented by South Dakota Corn, tracks head-to-head match-ups and conference championship results between South Dakota State and South Dakota in 17 sports, with each school accumulating points toward the overall series championship.
