South Dakota State and South Dakota both lost Missouri Valley Conference football games in Illinois Saturday. And both were blowouts at the finish.

— Marshaun Coprich rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns, and quarterback Tre Roberson topped the century mark in both rushing and passing, leading 22nd-ranked Illinois State to a 45-10 victory over ninth-ranked South Dakota State Saturday afternoon at Hancock Stadium.

In the Missouri Valley Football Conference for both teams, the Redbirds improved to 4-0 overall. SDSU dropped to 3-2 overall.

The Redbirds converted three first-quarter turnovers into 21 points, setting the tone in the first 15 minutes.

Southern Illinois pitched a perfect second half to turn a 10-10 game at halftime into a 41-10 victory against South Dakota Saturday evening at Saluki Stadium.

The 16th-ranked Salukis (5-1, 2-0 MVFC) scored touchdowns on four of its first five possessions out of the break and kicked a field goal on the other. It has been the formula for success all season for SIU which has outscored its foes 114-13 in the second half.
