Jacks, Coyotes Head Academic Teams

Several members of the South Dakota State and University of South Dakota men’s and women’s basketball teams have received Summit League All Conference Academic honors.

The league’s two Capital One Academic All-America selections, South Dakota State’s Brayden Carlson and forward Jordan Dykstra, led the way for the men. Joining the duo as an Academic All-League selection for the second consecutive season was Omaha’s John Karhoff.

Also honored were Chris Kading from league regular season and tournament champion North Dakota State, South Dakota’s Brandon Bos and SDSU’s Marcus Heemstra.

Fort Wayne led the way placing two student-athletes on the women’s team in Amanda Hyde and Haley Seibert. Joining them were South Dakota’s Nicole Seekamp, South Dakota State’s Megan Waytashek and Western Illinois’ Ashley Luke. For the second consecutive season, all five student-athletes were also First Team All-Summit League selections, including Hyde, the two-time Player of the Year selection.
