South Dakota State and South Dakota face Summit League openers as league play gets underway on the first day of 2016.

The Jackrabbit men, favorites in the conference pre season poll, will host Denver at 7 p.m. at Frost Arena. The game can be heard on 570 WNAX.

SDSU is off to its best Division One start at 11-3 while Denver comes in 8-5.

The Coyote women, picked second in the pre season polls to the SDSU women, will entertain a Denver team which lost its league opener against the Jackrabbits Wednesday.

USD is 9-4 in non-league action going into the noon tipoff against the 2-11 Pioneers.

The Coyote men carry an 8-6 record into their Summit opener as they host IUPUI at about 2:30. The visitors are just 4-11.
