South Dakota State’s men, ranked No. 11 in the Midwest Region, and South Dakota’s women, No. 7 in the Midwest, claimed The Summit League Cross Country Championships Saturday.
Individually, South Dakota State’s Chase Cayo claimed the men’s victory and SDSU’s Rachel King finished first on the women’s side.
SDSU’s men claimed its second straight title by scoring 31 points to best North Dakota State, which finished with 42 points. South Dakota (55) and Fort Wayne (106) rounded out the top four in the standings.
USD’s women totaled 30 points for its fourth consecutive crown, finishing ahead of North Dakota State’s 57. South Dakota State (67) and Omaha (118) completed the top-half of the field.
