The South Dakota State University football team closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule Saturday night by hosting Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the 48th Annual Beef Bowl.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium. The day’s festivities start with a free youth clinic is scheduled from 1:30-3 p.m. on the practice fields adjacent to Coughlin-Alumni Stadium. The pre-game barbecue, hosted by the SDSU Department of Animal and Range Sciences, runs from 3:30-5:30 p.m. south of the stadium.
The nationally ranked Jackrabbits enter their first-ever meeting against UW-Oshkosh with a 2-1 overall record. After a season-opening loss at Football Bowl Subdivision opponent Missouri, SDSU reeled off consecutive wins against Big Sky Conference opponents Cal Poly (44-18) and Southern Utah (26-6).
UW-Oshkosh, meanwhile, is off to an 0-2 start after a pair of home losses by a combined 12 points. The Titans, who are a member of NCAA Division III, were picked to finish third in the preseason Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference poll.
The game can be heard on 570 WNAX and the Jackrabbit Sports Network.
