South Dakota State bounced back from a first round loss at the Cayman Islands Classic and took down Iowa 80-72 Tuesday.

SDSU will face Buffalo in a battle for fifth place in the eight team field. Tipoff Wednesday is 1:30 on WNAX. Iowa will meet Alabama Birmingham trying to salvage a win in the event.

The Jackrabbits (4-2) had four players in double figures, led by David Jenkins Jr.’s 23 points behind three 3-pointers and six free throws, including three in the final minute to close out a 19-point second half.

Tevin King added 16 with seven rebounds and three assists, while Reed Tellinghuisen (15 points) and Mike Daum (10 points) achieved double digits.

Ian Theisen pulled down a team-best nine rebounds, playing 20 minutes with five points and a 3-pointer, while Daum paced the squad with four assists.
