The South Dakota State men’s basketball team has added a charity exhibition with the South Dakota School of Mines to its 2017-18 preseason schedule in an effort to raise awareness and financial support for hurricane relief efforts nationwide.

The exhibition will replace the Blue and Yellow scrimmage on Nov. 2, with tipoff set for 8:15 p.m. at Frost Arena following the women’s exhibition against Northern State.

With support from both athletic departments, the schools requested a waiver from the NCAA to add an additional exhibition game to the preseason schedule with 100 percent of the net proceeds given to a charity whose efforts benefit residents affected by recent hurricanes. The teams have partnered with the Florida Disaster Fund.
