— After a 2-0 weekend in singles action, senior Gary Notkin was named the Summit League tennis Player of the Week by league officials Tuesday morning.

 

Notkin also earned a doubles victory over the weekend.

The Plymouth, Minn., native defeated his Southern Illinois opponent 6-5, 6-2 before besting his Oral Robert foe, 6-3, 2-6, 6-5. Notkin also teamed with Mateus Moreira in doubles to clinch the point and match for the Jackrabbits.

 

Notkin was also a set up on his opponent from Oklahoma State in the Jacks’ opener when the match was decided.

 

SDSU (2-1, 0-0) will return to action Feb. 1 at Wisconsin.
