Jackrabbit Earns Summit Honor

South Dakota State’s Ali Herdliska was named The Summit League’s Softball Player of the Week, announced Monday after a standout performance last week in Clearwater, Florida.

Herdliska recorded a .417 (15 for 35) average on the week with six doubles, two triples and a home run, driving in 14 for a Jackrabbit team that went 8-3 on its spring break trip

. Herdliska had five multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games, including a three-hit game against St. Bonaventure (March 7) and a four-RBI performance against Holy Cross (March 10). The Solon, Iowa native currently leads the league in RBI (26) and is third in batting average (.351).

Named a preseason 2017 Player to Watch by the league, this is Herdliska’s first career Player of the Week honor.
