Growing on 2020 meetings co-sponsored by Farm Credit Services of America along with the South Dakota Corn Grower’s Association gets underway December 2 in Aberdeen and finishes up January 16 in Rapid City. Speaking at five growing on meetings in South Dakota and Iowa is Iowa State University Extension Farm Management Specialist Steve Johnson. He says many producers have 3 and a half months to decide on what they want to enroll in, whether it be ARC or PLC.

He advises soybean growers as they look at the ARC PLC program should choose ARC county to enroll in.

Johnson says there will be lots of acres of both corn and soybeans planted in 2020 so crop pricing risk management will be critical.

Johnson speaks in Aberdeen December 2, in Watertown December 3, in Sheldon, Iowa December 4, Sioux Falls on December 5 and South Sioux City on December 6. Other Growing On meetings are set for Fort Pierre, Huron, Mitchell, and Rapid City. For registration details phone 1—800—884—FARM.
