President Donald Trump has signed the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act into law. The law will bring certainty to agriculture and other industry stakeholders and ensures that farmers, consumers and others have an improved process when registering and evaluating the use of pesticides. Iowa Soybean Growers Association President Lindsay Greiner says this Act streamlines the process by which farmers get the tools they need to protect their crops.

He says by improving the registration and evaluation process it makes it better for farmers and consumers.

Greiner says hopefully the law was written well enough to withstand any legal challenge by environmentalists.

The Pesticide Registration Improvement Act will strengthen and improve pesticide registration through 2023.
