The Environmental Protection Agency recently requested public comments on a proposal to lower the 2018 and 2019 Renewable Fuel Standard biodiesel levels. Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw says in July the agency flat lined the biodiesel levels and just recently called to reduce them even further.
He says the EPA is moving with biodiesel RFS levels lower than what Congress intended.
Shaw says the comment deadline is October 19 and those wishing to comment can do so easily by going to their website at irfa.org.
He says the EPA is moving away from President Trump’s commitment to a strong RFS., and that if enough people comment, it could change the EPA’s course.
