Leaders of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association are asking their members to turn out in force and comment on the EPA’s renewable fuel standard volume obligations for 2018 for ethanol and biodiesel. IRFA’s Cassidy Riley says it’s a simple process for people to submit their comments.
She says as many comments as possible are needed to support the 15 billion gallon corn based ethanol proposal because oil company backers will be calling for reducing that with their comments.
Riley says the current EPA proposal for bio massed biodiesel at 2.1 billion gallons isn’t acceptable given the fact that 2.9 billion gallons were produced in 2016. She adds to submit comments just go to the IRFA website.
The comment period ends August 31.
