A group of farm state Senators led by Iowa’s Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst recently met with EPA Administrator Nominee Scott Pruitt to talk about the importance of biofuels and the Renewable Fuel Standard. Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw says it’s good the Senators had a chance to weigh in with Pruitt on renewable fuels.
He says it’s also positive that President Elect Donald Trump has already influenced Pruitt on the importance of supporting biofuels and the RFS prior to his meeting with the Senators.
Shaw says it’s encouraging Pruitt told the Senators he would follow the law when regarding the RFS.
Other Senators meeting with Pruitt included South Dakota’s John Thune and Mike Rounds as well as Nebraska’s Deb Fischer, Missouri’s Roy Blunt and Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts of Kansas.
