Iowa state lawmakers returned to Des Moines Monday for their 2019 legislative session. Iowa Pork Producers Association’s Public Policy Director Drew Mogler says their priorities this session include making sure state regulations are uniform and give farmers certainty.

He says they want lawmakers to help fund a emergency response plan for foreign animal diseases.

And Mogler says they are asking for additional funding for the new Iowa State University Diagnostic Laboratory.

The 2019 Iowa Legislative session runs through May 3.
