IPPA Passes Multiple Resolutions at Annual Meeting.

At last week’s annual Iowa pork producers’ association annual meeting the 101 county delegates were able to work to pass a variety of resolutions. Topics discussed at this meeting ranged from the growing concern for the availability of truck drivers to Decreasing the rate of the mandatory Pork Checkoff. IPPA president Kevin Rasmussen had this to say about the discussion on trucker shortages.

Rasmussen also discussed other topics such as Swine Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) and Foreign Animal Diseases. He said that producers and the state need to be prepared in case an outbreak were to happen.

Resolutions that IPPA delegates adopted are sent on for national consideration at the 2022 Pork Forum in Louisville, Kentucky.
