Iowa Pork Producer Association officials are disappointed a coalition of public interest groups are challenging Iowa’s Ag Protection law in court. Iowa Pork Producers Public Policy Director Drew Mogler says the legislation being challenged is patterned after other state’s laws that have held up well in courts.

He says Iowa’s 2019 Ag Protection law was written carefully not to violate citizen’s free speech rights.

Mogler says the reason for the Ag Protection Law passed this session is to protect livestock producers from harm from activists acting illegally.

Mogler says IPPA is supporting Governor Kim Reynolds and the State Attorney General in defending the law in court.
