Iowa Wind Energy officials are hoping Senators will get the Tax Extenders Legislation moving. Iowa Wind Energy Executive Director Mike Prior says negotiations are going on even though Congress is on Holiday break.
Prior is most concerned with the Wind production tax credit contained in the legislation. He says if Senators don’t get that measure unstuck and moving that it could take even longer if ever to pass that legislation.
Prior says the longer the delay on extending the wind production tax credit the more the industry will experience further economic harm which has already taken a toll forcing layoffs and cutbacks.
The Extenders legislation hold up has been attributed to arguing between Senators on a medical device tax extension and disagreement on what to do with it.
