Iowa Beef Industry Council is being challenged by the New York Beef Council in a contest to determine who in fact has the best burger.  You may recall at the start of May Beef Month it was announced “The Flying Elbow” of Marshalltown, Iowa, had won the Best Burger contest.  However, the New York Beef Council also features a “Best Beef Burger” contest with funding assistance from the Iowa Beef Industry Council.  Kylie Peterson is the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Iowa Beef Industry Council and tells of the “best burger challenge”.

Peterson says the contest will last only a week with the winner determined by which restaurant receives the most votes.  This is the second year for the burger challenge, and Peterson is hopeful Iowa can retain the title.

Peterson says everyone wins with this competition, and the Iowa Beef Council official says the program helps with tourism, and those businesses near the selected restaurant.

The competition is scheduled to last only one week.  People are encouraged to go to the Iowa Beef Industry Council’s website and cast their vote for either the Flying Elbow from Marshalltown, Iowa, or for the “Holy Smoker” burger from the Ale ‘n Angus Pub in New York, New York.
