Iowa’s unemployment rate remained at 2.8 percent in April, according to a report by Iowa Workforce Development. The agency’s spokesman is Cory Kelly.
Kelly says a few hundred Iowans moved off the unemployment rolls in April compared to March.
The report shows the total number of working Iowans increased to 1,627,200 in April. That’s 1,000 higher than March and 1,000 higher than one year ago. Iowa businesses, combined, cut 1,300 jobs in April. The health care and social assistance sector trimmed 900 jobs.
