Iowa Unemployment Nears Record Low

Iowa’s historically low unemployment rate held at two-point-four percent in November and Iowa Workforce Development spokesman, Cory Kelly, says the state now has the lowest rate in the country.

The number of unemployed Iowans decreased to 40-thousand-600 in November from 41-thousand-200 in October.The national unemployment rate held at three-point-seven percent in November. Kelly says any job losses in November were offset by the gains.

The November unemployment rate this year is down a half a percent compared to last year.

The number of working Iowans increased by 19-hundred compared to October and is 23-thousand-300 higher than one year ago.
