Friday’s announcement that Tyson is permanently closing its beef plant in Denison Iowa is disappointing for the state’s cattle producers. Iowa Cattlemen’s Association President Dr. Phil Reemtsma says there’s positive news on the horizon however with two other beef plant openings scheduled.
Reemtsma expects producers in the Denison area to now sell their cattle to Tyson’s plant in Dakota City, Nebraska.
