Beef packers require custom cattle transporters and feedlot producers hauling cattle on their own trailer or truck to a packing plant to have a current Beef Quality Assurance Transportation certificate before they will unload the cattle.  If you are a beef producer or custom trucker needing to get a new certificate or renew your Beef Quality Assurance Transportation certificate, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering a final summer in-person training on Tuesday, August 9th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Sioux County Extension Office in Orange City.  The training is offered at no cost, but registration is required.  Please register by calling Sioux County Extension at (712) 737-4230.  For those who cannot attend an in-person session, BQA Transportation training is available on-line.  For more information, contact Beth Doran, ISU Extension and Outreach Beef Specialist, at doranb@iastate.edu or phone (712) 737-4230.
