The fall enrollment numbers at the three state universities in Iowa all show a drop compared to last year. Iowa State University’s Laura Doering says they saw a drop of one-thousand-and one students.
The school had seen eight years of record enrollments before a decline last fall of 339 students. Doering, who is the associate vice president of enrollment management says they are doing a year-long study of the situation.

Doering says even with the drop, it is still the fourth largest fall enrollment for the Ames campus.

The Board of Regents change the way numbers are reported this year — taking out postdoctoral students. With that change, the University of Iowa reports a drop-in enrollment of 616 to 32-thousand-948. The University or Northern Iowa reported a drop of 695 students this fall compared to last year.
