Iowa State Senator Attempting to Head Off Federal Intervention

Iowa legislators are moving through their first week in Des Moines, with bill introductions first before they move to committees.
Senator Randy Feenstra of Hull says he is writing a bill that attempts to head off litigation between the Des Moines Waterworks, and three northwest counties…..

The lawsuit contends that the counties have not done enough to slow down nitrate run off into the Des Moines River.

Feenstra says he wants to avoid federal intervention….

Feenstra says he will also introduce bills on some other subjects….

The session is scheduled to last into mid-April.
