The Iowa State Fair gets underway in Des Moines today and runs through August 20. Fair Marketing Director Mindy Williamson says they have a large number of 4H, FFA and open class exhibitors participating this year.

She says what’s new this year at the Iowa State Fair is a pair of national livestock shows from August 17 through the 20th.

Williamson says you won’t go hungry if you attend the Iowa State Fair as they have over 40 different foods available for your to sample.

She says besides the free entertainment on their four stages, they also have grandstand shows featuring a Christian Concert, Nickleback, I Love the 90s, Pentatonic, Flow ride uh, Alabama, Little Big Town, John Cougar Mellencamp and Kid Rock. For information and tickets go to IowaStateFair.org.
