Tuesday the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Tom Vilsack as Agriculture Secretary. Iowa Soybean Association President Jeff Jorgenson says he expected that to happen and is pleased they can now move forward with an experienced leader at the USDA.

He’s hoping Vilsack gets going on helping the U.S. with trade agreements.

Jorgenson also says Vilsack understands the value of biofuels and should be helpful in that area.

Jorgenson says it’s also positive to have Vilsack as Ag Secretary with the writing of the new farm bill on the horizon.
