Iowa Soybean President Pleased With Senate Confirmation Of USDA Nominees

The Full Senate has confirmed USDA nominees.,Steve Censky as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture and Ted McKinney as Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Ag Services. Iowa Soybean Association President Rolland Schnell thinks Censky who served as CEO of the American Soybean Association will do a great job.

He says Censky’s experience at ASA will serve him well as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture.

Today, Iowa State Ag Secretary Bill Northey will be up before the Senate Ag Committee at his first confirmation hearing as USDA Under Secretary of Farm Production and Conservation. Schnell is hopeful he get a favorable nod from the Committee and eventual full Senate confirmation.

Besides the hearing for Northey on Thursday, Nebraska Ag Director Greg Ibach who’s been nominated as USDA Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory programs will also appear before the committee.
