Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has signed an executive order that all new diesel vehicles purchased for state fleets be B-20 approved diesel vehicles. Iowa Soybean Association President Tim Bardole says that’s great for the state’s soybean growers.
He’s hoping having state vehicles use B-20 encourages consumers to purchase the fuel as well.
Bardole says Iowa is the country’s number one producer of biodiesel producing 365 million gallons in 2018.
Iowa’s 11 biodiesel plants have the capacity to produce 400 million gallons annually.
