Sidney area farmer Jeff Jorgenson is the new President of the Iowa Soybean Association. He says they have several priorities and goals they’re working on as an organization. Jorgenson says one of the main ones has to do with improving water quality.

He says trade is another important priority and keeping good relationships with China is a key. Jorgenson says the advantage in the past has been having former Governor Terry Branstad in place as Ambassador to China.

Jorgenson says another of their goal’s is in educating the public as to how many products there are derived from soybeans and how that benefits everyone.

Jorgenson takes over from Tim Bardole of Rippey who served as President from 2019 to 2020.
