Iowa lawmakers return to Des Moines January 11 for their 2016 session. State Soybean Association President Wayne Fredericks says they’ll be lobbying legislators to put more funding into the nutrient reduction management strategy which is going into its third year.

He says it will take a long term effort to make sure the nutrient management strategy reaches is full potential.

Fredericks says his group is also monitoring the resurgence of nuisance lawsuits impacting agriculture.

Fredericks says although he hasn’t heard any specifics yet, he does expect some tax issues to come up during the Iowa Legislative session.
