Iowa Soybean Association members are monitoring legislation at the state level this session dealing with water quality, rural broadband, the budget and taxes. Michael Dolch is the Public Affairs Director for the Iowa Soybean Association.
He says they’re also watching for any legislative attacks on the state’s livestock producers, who are important customers for Iowa’s soybean farmers.
Dolch says state lawmakers have a tighter budget to work with and they want to help them find creative ways to fund agriculture’s needs.
Dolch says ISA members are also keeping on top of issues at the national level and want to see the trade war resolved and the new farm bill implemented.
