The shotgun deer season began over the weekend in Iowa. Tyler Harms with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says they expect hunters to take about the same number of deer that were was harvested in 2017.

Harms says take the proper precautions to be sure the hunt is safe.

The first shotgun season runs through December 5th, the second shotgun season will be December 8th to 16th and the late muzzleloader season will be December 17th to January 10th.
