One of the next legislative priorities for Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is getting an extenders tax package approved that includes the biodiesel tax credit. He says that measure is critical for certainty in the biodiesel industry.

He wants to see a long term extension for the biodiesel tax credit.

Grassley says the 30 some odd tax extenders proposals were left out of the major tax reform bill passed last year. He says that was based on an agreement it would come up later in a separate consideration.

Grassley says it’s hard to gauge whether or not the extenders legislation will pass given recent uncertainty in Congress.
